55 All dairy products manufactured, sold, offered for sale or in possession for sale shall be pasteurized or be made from pasteurized milk, unless otherwise approved by the director.
excerpt D10 -- M.R. 203/87 R -- Part X 129 - 132
129 The owner or operator of a dairy farm shall register the farm with the director prior to offering milk for sale.
130 The director or any person authorized by him shall
(a) inspect every dairy farm applying for registration and approve facilities and equipment prior to registration being completed; and
(b) inspect any dairy farm as often as required to secure compliance with these regulations.
131(1) Any person offering milk or dairy products for sale which are unpasteurized from his premises shall display one sign in the immediate area where the producer carries on his milk or dairy product transactions.
131(2) The sign shall contain the following and no other or additional wording: WARNING MILK SOLD ON THESE PREMISES IS NOT PASTEURIZED
131(3) The sign, prominently displayed in the area of the milk sale transactions, shall be in lettering at least 5.0 cm (2 in.) in height.
131(4) Any person offering unpasteurized milk or dairy products for sale shall not advertise in any manner that unpasteurized milk or dairy products are government inspected.
132(1) No person other than a producer shall sell, offer for sale, or have in his possession for sale, unpasteurized milk.
132(2) Unpasteurized milk shall be sold only from the premises on which it was produced.
132(3) This section does not prohibit the operation of a dairy plant from having possession of unpasteurized milk in the dairy plant for the purpose of pasteurizing or processing.

153 No person shall sell or offer for sale milk obtained within two weeks before and one week after calving, or kidding.
135.1(1) Unless it is sold or offered for sale as skim milk, partly skimmed milk, or modified partly skimmed milk, no person shall sell or offer for sale milk for human consumption containing less than
(a) 8 1/4% of solids, not fat; and
(b) 3 1/4% of butter-fat.
135.1(2) No person shall sell or offer for sale skim milk, partly skimmed milk, or modified partly skimmed milk for human consumption containing less than 8 1/4% of solids, not fat.
135.1(3) Subject to subsections (4) and (5), no producer or other person shall sell to, supply to, have in his or her possession for sale to or send to a dairy plant, or store in a bulk milk cooler,
(a) milk from which any cream has been taken;
(b) milk commonly known as skim milk, partly skimmed milk, or modified partly skimmed milk;
(c) milk to which cream has been added;
(d) milk taken from a dairy animal that he knows to be diseased at the time of milking;
(e) milk containing any substance, matter or thing prohibited under this regulation; or
(f) milk from which any substance, matter or thing has been removed contrary to this regulation.
135.1(4) Subsection (3) does not apply to milk stored in a bulk milk cooler if the producer has notified the director or an inspector that the milk is not for sale.
1355.1(5) Clause (3)(b) does not apply to the sale, supply, or sending of skim milk, partly skimmed milk, or modified partly skimmed milk from one dairy plant to another.
136 Milk offered for sale shall be free from disagreeable odour, taste, preservatives or other chemicals and shall not contain anything foreign to milk.
137 Milk offered for sale by a person for human consumption shall be classed as substandard if it contains more than 75,000 bacteria per millilitre as determined by the Animal Industry Branch.
138 Milk offered for sale by a person for human consumption shall be classed as substandard if produced on premises not in compliance with requirements in these regulations.
139 Milk offered for sale by a person for human consumption shall be classed as substandard if produced with equipment not in compliance with requirements in these regulations.
140 Milk offered for sale by a person for human consumption shall be classed as substandard if it contains antibiotic substance, or material which retards or prevents the growth of bacteria as determined by the Animal Industry Branch.
141 Milk offered for sale by a person for human consumption shall be classed as substandard if it has a freezing point of -0.507°C or higher as determined by the Animal Industry Branch.
142 Milk offered for sale by a person for human consumption shall not have a total cell count of more than 1,000,000 per millilitre as determined by the Animal Industry Branch.
143 Immediate suspension of milk sale and shipment shall occur when milk is classed as substandard under section 138 or 139 because of insanitary conditions, and shall remain in force until the insanitary condition has been corrected.
144 Milk when classed as substandard under section 140 shall result in an immediate suspension of shipment which will remain in force until milk is classified acceptable.
